I would highly recommend Char! Our service was great, the food was amazing. The only thing I did not like about my dining experience is you can tell you are in the "rich area" because other patrons seemed to be very judge mental. I plan on coming back for sure!
For the appetizer we got the BBQ shrimp and grits. I don't even like grits and this was amazing. I got the Oscar filet with blue cheese scalloped potatoes for my main course. My boyfriend got the strip with Brussels. Food was great and steaks were cooked perfect. -

Service was excellent here. The staff took care of us. Straight to the food.
We started off with the crab claws and they weren't disappointed it was good.
Ordered the prime ribs and was sold out! I was disappointed had my mind set on the prime ribs. So I got the ribs eyes medium. Meat came out medium rare which is still too red and bloody for me. Sent it back and the lady brought the plate back and it was rare in the middle so the third time was a charm it was perfect. I did get offered if I wanted anything else while waiting but honestly I didn't. Since it was my Birthday she did take care of me and offer desserts. It was nice of the staff. I surely will be back to visit. -

Pleasantly surprised. Not what I expected for G Hills. There is free valet or free garage parking; just a bit of a hike. We made reservations for a part of 6 and table was ready when we arrived. However, it took quite a few minutes to be greeted.
For our appetizers, we ordered the crab claws, fried green tomatoes, and mussels. The mussels were a little fishy and our least favorite. But the fried green tomatoes was good - tart, firm tomatoes with a little little cornmeal batter, perfectly fried without being greasy. The crab claws were a buttery goodness and the cocktail sauce was a perfect compliment - great for sharing.
I initially ordered the prime rib, but was informed a little bit later that it was sold out. Was recommended the steak frites; but a bit apprehensive. It was surprisingly really good, the cuts weren't too small and was cooked perfectly medium rare with just the right seasoning. The chipotle sweet potato mash was the best thing I ate. My only complaint is that I wanted a big serving! Has a good first experience overall, dying to come back for the sweet potatoes. -

I really wanted to love it here. I sat at the bar since I was eating alone and I liked that they had a piano player starting around 6 pm. Bartenders and waitress were friendly but my duck was just extraordinarily undercooked to the point where it wasn't even enjoyable. I ordered medium rare but the middle was just raw so the texture was terrible. It seemed like they seared the outside a second then just plated it. They didn't even give me a steak knife so it was hard to cut. I would hate to see how they cook rare duck!
The rest of the dish was pretty good although parts of the broccolini were maybe a little too spicy and I wanted a little more flavor from the blueberry Demi glacé. Overall just a disappointing meal - I had considered just going to the chipotle down the road for a quick dinner to go but changed my mind at the last minute. I would've been happier with a burrito.
